Finding Hope Through Support Groups
No one should have to grieve alone. Being with others who understand the grief we experience after the death of a loved one offers a safe, confidential space to share our thoughts and feelings or to simply listen. Our Center offers free grief support for Kindergartners through senior adults.
The first step to get more information or to register for a group is to call Gail at 214-452-3105 to schedule a phone intake with Laurie Taylor, our director and clinician who facilitates the groups. The two of you will determine if our groups are a good fit for you, and if we feel that we can meet your needs. You’ll share a little about your loved one and why you would like to join a group followed by the completion of a short registration form.
SAM’s (Same As Me), our peer grief support group for kindergartners through high school seniors and their parents/guardians, meets in person each month from September through June. The kids meet in age appropriate groups with loving, trained facilitators while parents and guardians meet with our director.
All of our monthly adult support groups are virtual allowing our clients to relax in the comfort of their own homes as they receive the support they need. The groups are designated for specific losses with some being offered to specific age groups. Below is a list of the adult groups we offer:
Child Loss
