What a paw-some surprise for our SAM’s (Same as Me) kids! They arrived not knowing what we had in store for them. They were paw-sitively surprised to find five beautiful therapy dogs patiently waiting for their hugs.
Our Dog Days of Summer Party was a huge hit complete with dog-shaped suckers, dog key rings, dog glasses, dog bracelets, dog cupcakes, dog crazy straws, and dog stickers. And best of all, were the doggone huge smiles on our wonderful SAM’s families’ faces.
As the families moved from room to room, they met each dog and got to hug and pet them. Amani the Maltese, Serena the Maltipoo, Fiona the Golden Retriever, Emma the Collie, and Fletcher the Pocket Pit seemed to love the kids as much as the kids loved them. All are members of the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD), a national organization providing certification, registration, support and insurance for members. We are indebted to their handlers for dedicating their evening to bring such joy to our families.
